Did you know that at the Flossmoor Station brewery, they will the bottles by hand 4 at a time.  There is still a personal touch left in the craft beer industry!

Summer's almost over, don't forget to get a Farmer's Tan...I mean the Imperial Pale Lager from Southern Tier.  It's the best of 3 worlds...You get the flavors of a (1) Pale Ale combined with (2) the clarity, crispiness and lightness of a Lager and (3) it's 9% ABV.  Probably the best lager around!

Just arrived for the end of summer Steigl Lemon Radler.  This is the beer that inspired Summer Shandy.  Finally released from customs, this refreshing lemon flavored beer is perfect as the hot weather gives way to a more comfortable temperature for sitting outside.

Craft Beers may be gaining steam but the stalwarts still take the top spot.  Thanks to Michelle at the Tri-Town YMCA for providing us the link of beer bestsellers.

Beer review: JK Scrumpy's Solstice. 97 points on Ratebeer, 6.9 abv.

Aroma: Fresh apples, cinnamon and vanilla.

Taste: Lightly spiced, similar to regular scrumpies, just with a little holiday feel to it. Highly recommended.

Anderson Valley Winter Solstice, Ratebeer 92, 6.9abv.

Pours a deep amber, head dissipates quickly.

Aroma: Malty, caramel, candied fruit, orange peal.

Taste: Super malty, somewhat sweet, tastes like a baked dessert, almost like a liquid cookie

Ska Euphoria, Ratebeer 92, ABV 6.1

Pours a pretty amber

Nose full of hops. Lots of pine and grapefruit

Nice clean mouthfeel, bitter, but not overwhelming.

Kind of like a Modus lite, but NOT a lite beer. Great stuff.

Southern Tier Old Man Winter, 93 Ratebeer, 7.7 abv

Nice amber color, light head

Good balance between malt and hops in both aroma and flavor.

Nice winter warmer!
